Zoom provides virtual meeting and webinar tools for Baker College students, faculty, and staff.

Zoom Meetings can accommodate up to 300 participants. You can create and join meetings using the Zoom application or a web browser.
Access Zoom
Schedule a Meeting with Google Calendar
Google Calendar can add Zoom meeting details to an event, send invitations, and provide reminders. The first time you add Zoom to a calendar event, you may be prompted to authorize Zoom to access your Google account.
- Create or open an event in Google Calendar.
- Add Zoom to the event using the available Zoom meeting option.
- Add guests, confirm the event details, and save the event.

Join a Meeting
- Open the email or calendar invitation from the meeting host.
- Select the Zoom meeting link in the invitation.
- If the host provides a meeting ID and passcode instead, open Zoom, select Join, and enter the meeting information.


Share Meeting Details
During a meeting, select Participants, then select Invite to view and share the meeting link, meeting ID, and passcode.

Start an Instant Meeting
Open the Zoom application and select New Meeting.

You can also access Zoom from MyBaker or directly through the Baker College Zoom portal.

Zoom Webinars are designed for presentation-style events in which hosts and panelists present to attendees. Webinar capacity and available features depend on the assigned Zoom license and account configuration.
Depending on the license and host settings, webinar features may include registration, chat, questions and answers, polling, and breakout rooms.

Kaltura is available through Canvas for recording, embedding, and submitting videos. The process depends on your role.
Students do not need to record the video in Zoom or publish it separately. Record and submit the video from the Canvas assignment using Kaltura.
For best results, use a desktop or laptop web browser and confirm that the device has a working camera and microphone.
- In Canvas, open the course and assignment.
- Select Start Assignment.
- Select Text Entry. If Text Entry is not available, contact your instructor.
- In the Rich Content Editor, select Embed Kaltura Media. The button has a multicolored starburst icon.
- Select + Create, then select Express Capture.
- When prompted, allow the browser to access the camera and microphone.
- Confirm the camera, microphone, and screen-sharing settings.
- Select the red Record button. Recording begins after the countdown.
- When finished, select the red Stop button.
- Review the recording:
- Select Record Again to discard it and make another recording.
- Select Use This to save the recording to Kaltura.
- Wait for Kaltura to upload and process the recording.
- Select Embed next to the recording.
- If prompted to submit the media as an assignment, select Yes, please.
- Verify that the video appears in the Rich Content Editor.
- Complete any other required information and select Submit Assignment.

The assignment must allow Text Entry submissions before students can access Embed Kaltura Media.
- Create or edit the assignment in Canvas.
- Under Submission Type, select Online.
- Select Text Entry.
- Configure the remaining assignment settings.
- Select Save.
- Publish the assignment when it is ready for students.
Instructors and staff with Canvas editing access can record Kaltura media directly from the Rich Content Editor.
- In Canvas, create or edit the page, assignment, discussion, announcement, or other content item.
- In the Rich Content Editor, select Embed Kaltura Media.
- Select + Create, then select Express Capture.
- When prompted, allow the browser to access the camera and microphone.
- Confirm the camera, microphone, and screen-sharing settings.
- Select the red Record button.
- When finished, select the red Stop button.
- Review the recording, then select Use This.
- Wait for Kaltura to upload and process the recording.
- Select Embed next to the recording.
- Verify that the video appears in the Rich Content Editor.
- Save the Canvas content item and publish it when it is ready for students.
The Kaltura video does not need to be published separately when it is embedded directly in Canvas content.
