What is Single sign-on (SSO)?

By logging in to the MyBaker portal (my.baker.edu), users can seamlessly launch into any Baker application from one location.  SSO allows you to log in once and you will have access to any application that is enabled on the my.baker.edu page!

The Sign-on Process.

In order to use single sign-on, users will need to go to my.baker.edu, click the 'Login' button on the top right side of the page.

Sign in to the pop-up windows that is displayed with your full Baker College username as show in the example, e.g. jsmith01@baker.edu. Then click the Next button.

What is the timeout duration on SSO?

Our SSO solution has a 24 hour time out window.  This means after 24 hours of inactivity, you will be automatically logged off of your SSO session.

If I logout of my.baker.edu, will it log me out of other applications (Canvas, email)?

When you log out of my.baker.edu, you will still need to make sure to log out of Canvas and Google Apps separately.

If I logout of Canvas or email, will I have to logout of my.baker.edu?

Yes, even if you log out of Canvas or Google, you will still need to log out of my.baker.edu separately.
Please keep in mind, closing a tab for MyBaker or Canvas WILL NOT log you out of SSO.  To be completely logged out of SSO, you must close your web browser.
This is especially true if you are using a public computer.

Can I use 2-Step authentication?

In an effort to promote secure practices and to protect your account, Baker College has implemented Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). For more information please visit the knowledge base article Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

Does email work on my mobile device / tablet?

Yes, email still functions normally on your mobile devices.
