Baker College Military Tuition Assistance Benefits

Federal Tuition Assistance (TA):

Some military tuition assistance programs require you to submit a voucher before your tuition can be invoiced to the applicable branch. These programs include:

  • Air Force
  • Army (Army Ignited)
  • Coast Guard
  • Marines
  • MyCAA
  • Navy

Your vouchers must reflect the current active-duty service member tuition rate.

Submitting Your Voucher
You are responsible for sending any TA vouchers or authorizations to billing@baker.edu.
 
Make sure your documents are submitted each semester you plan to use TA. The College must receive your voucher before your funding can be applied. 
 

Tuition Coverage

  • TA pays up to $250 per semester credit hour.
  • You can receive up to $4,500 per fiscal year (October - September).
  • TA applies to undergraduate and master's degree courses only.
  • TA does not cover:
    • Doctoral programs
    • Technology fees
    • Course fees
    • Books or supplies

You can view the TA amounts approved for each semester by viewing your Account Statement.
 

Michigan National Guard State Tuition Assistance (MINGSTAP)

If you're a Michigan National Guard service member, or a qualified family member, you may be eligible for tuition reimbursement through MINGSTAP.

How to Apply

After Your Course Ends

  • You must submit your final grades within 60 days of the course ending.
  • MINGSTAP reimburses courses completed with a grade of C or better. 

What MINGSTAP Covers

  • Up to $600 per semester credit hour for tuition.
  • Reimbursement for fees, including technology and course fees.
  • Books and Supplies are not covered
Annual Reimbursement Limits:
  • Undergraduate Students: up to $14,400 per academic year
  • Graduate Students: up to $6,000 per academic year

Baker College Required Forms

All approved Michigan National Guard service members, and eligible family members, must complete the Michigan National Guard Self Certification and Payment Plan Enrollment Form.

  • Required
    • Regardless of your enrollment in the reimbursement program with the Michigan National Guard.
    • Every semester you register at Baker College.
Completion of this form ensures you receive the active-duty service member tuition rate and can enroll in a deferred payment plan option, if needed.
 
Submitting Your MINGSTAP Supplemental Invoice

MINGSTAP Supplemental Invoice forms should be emailed to billing@baker.edu.

Baker College will complete the form and email it back to you so you can submit it to MINGSTAP.
