MISSG Portal

The MiSSG Student Portal allows students to create an account, complete State financial aid program applications, monitor State financial aid eligibility, and transfer institutions.

For students to have access to the MISSG Portal, they must have a current-year FAFSA on file or have a Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) record. The student must also know their Social Security number (SSN) when creating an account.

A few days after completing the FAFSA, MI Student Aid receives a copy of it. Students can then log into the MISSG Student Portal at michigan.gov/missg to see what State financial aid programs they may qualify for. While logged in, students can change their college choice and complete additional applications. The instructions below may be beneficial to first-time users and for students who need assistance transferring their college choice to Baker College.

Creating a MISSG Student Portal Account

1. Navigate to the MISSG Portal log in page.
2. Click 'Create Account.’

3. Fill in the student details and create your user name and password. All fields with an * are required. Enter a personal email address (in case you lose school account email).
4. Select a personal image for added security.
5. Review and acknowledge the terms and conditions.
6. Click 'Create My Account.'
7. You will be directed back to account log in screen where you will enter your user name and password that was just created.

Updating School Choice on MISSG

1. Navigate to the MISSG Portal and log in.
2. Your student profile will list your current school of choice by academic year.
3. Once you have landed on the MiSSG Student Portal dashboard. Scroll down to Student Profile and under “Current Institutions” click the “Change Institution” button.
4. Double check you are changing the institution for the appropriate academic year/FAFSA. Then click “Change Institution.”
5. In the ‘Transfer Institution’ box search for Baker College.
6. In the ‘Transfer Term’ box select the appropriate term you will begin attending Baker College.
7. Click Save.
8. A pop-up message will appear stating "Transfer Request: Updates have been processed."
9. Once back on the MiSSG Student Portal dashboard check the Student Profile section, under “Current Institutions”, you should now see Baker College listed.
