1.0 Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines regarding smoking on Baker College campuses and in College motor vehicles. The policy aims to promote a healthy and safe environment for all employees and students.

2.0 Definitions

Smoking - The act of inhaling, exhaling, or carrying a lighted cigarette, cigar, pipe, or any other tobacco product.

3.0 Scope

This policy applies to all employees, students, and visitors on Baker College campuses and in any College motor vehicle.

4.0 Policy Statement

Employees are prohibited from smoking on the campuses of Baker College, as well as in any College motor vehicle. However, should the College determine that it will allow smoking on campus, it will designate an area or areas. In that case, smoking will be permitted only in the designated area or areas of that campus, but will not be allowed in any College motor vehicle.

5.0 Procedures

Employees must refrain from smoking in all areas of the campus and in College motor vehicles.

If designated smoking areas are established, employees must utilize these areas when smoking.

6.0 Responsibilities

Human Resources:

Oversee the adherence to the Smoking Policy.

Ensure that all employees are informed of the policy and any designated smoking areas.

Campus Director:

Communicate the Smoking Policy to employees, students, and visitors.

Monitor compliance with the policy on their respective campuses.
