Baker College is dedicated to ensuring our digital presence is accessible to everyone, regardless of disability. This policy exists to eliminate barriers to access and uphold our core values of integrity, inclusiveness, and social responsibility. By following these standards, we ensure compliance with:

Guidelines for Content Creators & Publishers
All individuals who create, edit, or upload content to a site owned or maintained by Baker College - including employees and third-party vendors - must follow this policy.
The Standard
All new and edited content must meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards at the time of publishing. In practice, this means your content must be:
- Perceivable: Users can see or hear the information.
- Operable: Users can navigate the site easily (e.g., using only a keyboard).
- Understandable: The information and UI must be clear.
- Robust: Content must work reliably across different assistive technologies
Definitions
Web Accessibility - The process of designing websites so people with disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with services with the same ease of use as those without disabilities.
Web Content - Any part of a website, including text, images, forms, multimedia, code, scripts, and applications.
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) Level AA - The internationally recognized industry and legal benchmark for digital accessibility. To meet this level, content must satisfy both "Level A" (basic) and "Level AA" (rigorous) criteria, such as providing high color contrast and video captions.
Web Content Creator - Any person (employee or vendor) who creates content to be added to a website.
Web Content Publisher - Any person (employee or vendor) responsible for uploading or adding content to a webpage.
