How to Apply for a Grad PLUS Loan

Graduate students can apply for PLUS Loans through the federal website, studentaid.gov. Many schools, including Baker College, use this platform to facilitate the application process. When applying, be sure to select the main Baker College option rather than any of our branch campuses.

Once you submit your application, Baker College will receive an electronic copy (this may take a few days) and will process the PLUS Loan on your behalf. You will be notified if any additional steps are needed to complete your loan application.

Steps to Begin the Application Process:

1. To apply for a Grad PLUS loan, the borrower will need to log in to studentaid.gov using their FSA ID.

2. Under the 'Grants and Loans' tab select 'PLUS Loans: Grad PLUS and Parent PLUS.'

3. To apply for a Graduate PLUS loan select 'Learn More' next to "I am a Graduate or Professional Student."



4. Click 'Start' on the next page to begin your PLUS Loan application.

5. Complete the application and submit it.

6. Baker College will receive a file with the results (including the credit check) and will notify you of the next steps.
