The U.S. Department of Education has established regulations to prevent fraud and abuse in the Federal Pell Grant Program by identifying students with unusual enrollment histories. If your FAFSA is flagged for Unusual Enrollment History (UEH), you will see a comment code (C code) on your FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS). Baker College is unable to disburse Title IV funds to students with a UEH C code until the issue is resolved according to the guidelines set by the Department of Education.
If you have been notified by Baker College that your FAFSA has a C code related to Unusual Enrollment History, the following steps are required to determine your eligibility for financial aid:
2026-2027 Financial Aid Recipients
- Log into studentaid.gov, using your FSA ID to determine the schools you received Pell Grant and/or Federal Direct Loan funds at during the 2022-2023, 2023-2024 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 academic years.
- Complete the 2026-2027 Unusual Enrollment History Form with all required documentation by the deadline for the semester in which you are trying to receive financial aid funds.
2027-2028 Financial Aid Recipients
- Log into studentaid.gov, using your FSA ID to determine the schools you received Pell Grant and/or Federal Direct Loan funds at during the 2023-2024, 2024-2025, 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 academic years.
- Complete the 2027-2028 Unusual Enrollment History Form with all required documentation by the deadline for the semester in which you are trying to receive financial aid funds.
Additional Requirements:
If you did not earn at least one academic credit/clock hour at every institution where you attended and received Pell Grant funds, you must:
- Provide an explanation of the special circumstance that caused you to not earn credit/clock hours.
- Submit supporting documentation for your explanation.
Baker College will review your Unusual Enrollment History Form and communicate with you regarding your eligibility for financial aid. If your financial aid is reinstated, you will receive additional information from Baker College about the status of your FAFSA application.
