Annual Student Loan Acknowledgement

The Annual Student Loan Acknowledgment (ASLA) provides federal student loan borrowers information about student loans and how borrowing will impact their financial future. All students requesting a Federal Direct Subsidized, Unsubsidized or PLUS Loan are encouraged to complete the ASLA process online at https://studentaid.gov/asla/. First time borrowers will review information about loan debt and repayment of loans. Returning borrowers will review their current loan debt and loan servicer information. The ASLA is in addition to the Entrance Loan Counseling and Master Promissory Note requirements and must be completed yearly.

Who Should Complete This? Borrowers accepting a subsidized/unsubsidized loan, a PLUS loan for graduate/professional students, or a PLUS loan for parents.

How long will it take? Most people complete the acknowledgment in less than 10 minutes.

Annual Student Loan Acknowledgement Instructions

  • Click ‘Log in to Start’
  • First Time Loan Borrowers 
    • Enter the following information
      • State: Michigan
      • School Name: Baker College
      • Degree/Certificate: Select the degree/certificate you will be pursuing at Baker College
      • Field of Study: Select the field of study you will be pursuing at Baker College (this is optional)
      • Click View Data
        • College Scorecard information related to the estimated costs, graduation rate, estimated loan debt, and estimated monthly payments will be displayed. The numbers provided are estimates and averages. General information on borrowing and loan repayment will be provided. 
  • Returning Loan Borrowers
    • Current loan debt, including principal and interest, and estimated monthly payments based on this amount will be displayed. Review the repayment options and loan details to understand your options when your loans enter repayment. Your loan servicer(s) contact information will be listed. 
  • Review all information
  • Check the box at the bottom of the page to confirm your understanding and click submit
  • A completion confirmation will be provided

Upon completion, Baker College will receive the results electronically and the requirements will be satisfied.

Note: When completing the acknowledgement process it is important that you select Baker College and do not select any of the branch campuses listed because all Annual Student Loan Acknowledgements must be processed through the school listed as “Baker College”.
